Seven Farnham pubs are in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide 2026. Our 15-pub list gives beers, hours, dog and child rules and hygiene ratings, checked 24 October.
Most people looking for a pub in Farnham end up at The Hop Blossom, a Fuller’s corner local from 1864; Borough Beer House, with six handpumps and 18 keg lines in a 1674 building on The Borough; or The Nelson Arms, which began as 14th-century cottages. Seven of the 15 pubs below are in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide 2026. We checked every entry against the pub’s own website, or its CAMRA listing where it has no website, on 24 October 2026.
We have not visited these pubs for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry sets out what the pub says about itself, what CAMRA’s Surrey/Hants Borders branch records about its beer and its history, and its Food Standards Agency hygiene rating. Opening hours change with the seasons, so it is worth checking with the pub before a special trip.

The Hop Blossom, Long Garden Walk

The pub’s own site says it holds Master Cellarman status and has an open fire in winter. It is dog friendly and welcomes families. CAMRA notes that no food is served at the moment, and the function room can be booked free of charge. Hours: Monday to Friday 12pm to 11pm, Saturday 11am to 11pm, Sunday 12pm to 11pm. CAMRA says it opened in December 2023 in the Grade II listed former Bailiff’s Hall of 1674, and won CAMRA’s 2025 Pub Design Award for conversion to pub use. It is a Good Beer Guide 2026 entry. The William Cobbett, Bridge Square
William Cobbett, the radical writer, was born in this building. Historic England lists it at Grade II* as a 17th-century building and records it as his birthplace. CAMRA says it was the Jolly Farmer until 1971. Inside are 1960s and 1970s memorabilia, flagstone floors, a pool room upstairs, a large sheltered back garden and a pet tarantula in a terrarium above the fireplace. CAMRA also warns that it “can become crowded and noisy” with a young crowd at weekends. Sharp’s Doom Bar is the regular beer. We found no website for the pub. CAMRA gives late opening until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays, but that listing was last updated in June 2025, so call 01252 726281 to check. Hygiene rating 5 (FSA, 12 March 2025). 4 Bridge Square, GU9 7QR. Our listing.

CAMRA says it was built as a pub in 1856, and it is in the Good Beer Guide 2026. There are four cask ales, all changing guests and always including a dark beer, plus four keg beers from independent local producers, and the current list is posted on the website. Pizzas are served. No under-8s. The pub says it is a short bus or taxi ride from the town centre, or a 25-minute walk (“be warned, it’s uphill”). The cask range favours local breweries, with St Austell Proper Job and Triple fff Moondance as regulars. CAMRA describes a dog and family friendly pub with a rear patio, a small car park, a dartboard and occasional live music on Fridays or Saturdays. We found no website for the pub, so the hours are CAMRA’s, updated on 18 October: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 4pm to 11pm; Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 12pm to 11pm; Sunday 12pm to 10.30pm. Food is served from Tuesday to Sunday. Hygiene rating 4 (FSA, 9 June 2026). Sandrock Hill Road, GU10 4NS. Our listing.
The Bat & Ball, Boundstone
The Bat & Ball is an independent free house on the edge of Bourne Woods. Its landlords, Kit and Rachael, say it has “one of the biggest beer gardens in Surrey” and a children’s playground. The pub names Triple fff, Dark Star Hophead and Hog’s Back as regulars, alongside rotating ales from independent brewers. CAMRA, which lists it in the Good Beer Guide 2026, says the building was once a hop grower’s tally office where pickers were paid in tokens that could be spent on beer. It also notes a beer festival in mid-June, a Tuesday quiz and an open mic on the first Thursday of the month. The car park is reached by a narrow unadopted road. Hours: Monday to Saturday 11am to 11pm, Sunday 12pm to 10.30pm. Call 01252 792108. Hygiene rating 5 (FSA, 5 December 2024). 15 Bat and Ball Lane, GU10 4SA. Our listing.

CAMRA lists it in the Good Beer Guide 2026 and says the 150-year-old building used to be the village bakery. CAMRA also notes a large garden and plenty of parking, and says there is no area set aside for drinkers, so at busy times you may need to drink outside under the heated, covered area. The pub’s own site says “Bookings only” for tables and has main, Sunday and children’s menus. Hours: closed Monday except bank holidays; Tuesday to Friday 12pm to 3pm and 5.30pm to 10pm; Saturday 12pm to 10pm; Sunday 12pm to 6pm. Call 01252 792801. Hygiene rating 5 (FSA, 14 April 2026). On 24 October its site listed Wey IPA (5.7%), Sundowner (4.6%) and Fresh (4.5%) on tap. CAMRA says the tap room is in a restored 17th-century building that was once a wheelwright’s, and that the one cask line is usually a guest from another brewery. The Princess Royal, Runfold
CAMRA calls the Princess Royal an “impressive and stylish roadhouse”, built in 1926 on the old A31 and designed by Guy Maxwell Aylwin, who also designed the Bush Hotel. Fuller’s runs it now, and its site lists 27 bedrooms and step-free access with an accessible WC. It welcomes families; its features list says assistance dogs are welcome in the pub and pets in the bedrooms. London Pride and Gales HSB are the regulars. How we chose
These are the Farnham pubs people search for and can check: the seven in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide 2026, the town’s oldest and best-known buildings, two brewery tap rooms, and the country pubs that publish their own hours and menus. Every pub here has a food hygiene rating of 3 or better, apart from Borough Beer House, which we could not find on the register. None had posted a closure notice. We left out pubs we could not check on the day, and The Mulberry on Station Hill, whose operating company is in liquidation. The facts come from each pub’s own website, CAMRA’s Surrey/Hants Borders branch listings, Historic England and the Food Standards Agency.
