The Farnham Christmas Market is on Sunday 13 December 2026, from 10am to 4pm, with over 100 stalls and live music. Entry is free, parking that day is free, and Farnham Town Council runs a free hoppa bus across the town.
The one thing nobody can tell you yet is where in the town centre it is going to be, and the council’s own two pages do not agree about it. Checked on 4 September 2026.
The location question, and why it matters
The council’s public event page says simply: “The market will take place in Farnham Town Centre.” No caveat, no suggestion anything has changed.
Its stallholder application page, last updated on 16 February 2026, says something different: “due the current Farnham Infrastructure Programme works, this year’s Farnham Christmas Market will be taking place in an alternative location in Farnham Town Centre. The exact location will be confirmed in due course.”
The stallholder page is the one traders have to read and pay against, so treat it as the operative version: the market has moved and the site has not been named. The market has previously run along Castle Street and The Borough, which is exactly where the town centre improvement works have been concentrated.
There is a reasonable chance the site is settled by the time the market happens. Surrey County Council says the town centre roadworks, which started in February 2025, are “expected to be completed as planned by the end of the 2026”, and Castle Street’s resurfacing is meant to be done before the winter weather closes in. But that is the programme’s intention, not a guarantee, and the council has not published a location either way.

The council’s description is handmade gifts, food and drink, and live music. It is a one-day market, not a multi-week one, which is worth knowing if you are planning around it. The council’s news page carries the headline “One-day Christmas market returns to Farnham”, dated 4 December 2025, and 2026 is the same shape.
Getting there: the free bus and the free parking
Two things make this the easiest event of Farnham’s festive season to get to, and both come from the council’s own page.
- A free hoppa bus runs between 10am and 4.30pm, covering north and south Farnham, at 15 to 20 minute intervals depending on traffic.
- Sunday parking is free in every Waverley pay and display car park in Farnham. That is a genuine saving: the same all-day stay in Central costs £24.40 on a weekday. Our Farnham parking page has the car park by car park detail, and Blue Badge holders park free every day.
The council’s own advice is that the town centre will be busy and to avoid driving if you can. There are bike racks a short walk from the site. Check the Farnham roadworks and travel page before you set off, because the town centre works are still running and the market’s location depends on them.
If you want a stall
Applications go through the council’s stallholder form. The 2026 pitch prices, all plus VAT, are:

Premium pitches, electricity, gazebo hire and table hire are charged on top. The council says it responds to applications within two weeks and takes full payment within 28 days of invoice. No closing date has been published, so the practical deadline is whenever the pitches run out.
The other Christmas market, five weeks earlier
If 13 December is too late for your shopping, Farnham Maltings holds its Christmas Fair on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 November 2026, with over 140 independent stalls, which is more than the town market has. The Maltings describes it as a two-day festive marketplace of handmade gifts, crafts, food and drink. It has confirmed the dates and opened bookings but has not published opening times or an admission price on its own Christmas Fair page.
Before either, the Farnham Christmas lights switch-on is on Saturday 14 November in Gostrey Meadow, with the lights going on at 4.30pm.
Still to be confirmed: the market’s location, the stallholder list and the live music line-up. The council usually publishes all three in its Christmas in Farnham brochure in late October or early November. This page will be updated then.
